Camerata collects nothing. There is no account, no cloud, no analytics, and no advertising.
Everything you shoot or bring into Camerata is stored on your device, inside the app. It is never uploaded, because the app makes no network connections of any kind. Nobody, including the developer, can see it.
Camerata reads your photo library only to show you what you can bring into a collection, and to find its own albums. Importing copies a file; it never moves or deletes the original. Camerata adds to your library only when you ask it to, by saving a collection out.
The camera is used when you are taking a photo or video. The microphone is used only while recording a video, so that the video has sound. Neither is used at any other time.
If you turn the lock on, your phone tells Camerata only whether it recognised you. Camerata never receives your face or fingerprint data, and neither does anyone else.
Camerata's files sit in the app's own storage, which your phone includes in its iCloud or computer backup if you have one turned on. That backup is between you and Apple, or you and your computer. Camerata is not part of it and cannot read it.
Deleting an item moves it to Recently Deleted, where it can be put back. Choosing “Delete now” on an item, or emptying Recently Deleted, destroys it straight away. Anything left in Recently Deleted for more than 30 days is removed the next time the app starts up successfully. Deleting the app removes everything it still holds.
Deletion happens on your phone, and the developer never has a copy to delete. Copies you made yourself are a different matter and are not affected: anything you saved out to your photo library, shared to another app, or that came from a photo you imported, stays where it is, as do your own device backups.
Camerata is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children. Because it collects no information from anyone, it collects no information from children either.
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it, and the same text ships inside the app under Settings → Privacy. If the two ever disagree, the version inside the app is the one that describes the software you are running.
